I just bought a bike from Island Bike & Surf...John was so helpful & awesome! A local friend told me she buys her bikes there. No pressure, answered all my questions, and delivered it to Kiawah the same day! I also love the fact they can pick it up each year and service it for me. (small fee) It is the perfect bike that I wanted...rode it for miles today.....a happy new owner!
My bike needed a new inner tube, and when I called, the receptionist was very informative in regards to the quote for the repair (very affordable). The staff were very understanding and thoughtful with the work they did. They definitely had my best interest in mind. Great location, clean work space. Overall, very positive experience.
No customer service ...we self admittedly waited too long to reserve bikes during the holiday weekend, but when I showed up at opening time to see if they had any availability, to say they were less than helpful would be an understatement. my first instinct was to find a bike shop and purchase 2 new bikes for my daughters which would have cost me at least $600, but after a few phone calls, I found a very helpful bike rental company that was able to deliver 2 bikes for my girls by 1pm the following day...problem solved, but we will not return to this establishment again.
Ordered bikes - confirmation for delivery was 11 am to noon. Bikes never showed up! Following day they had more excuses than I could count. In addition to reconcile the situation they had to once again lie. In the end I realized their biggest problem is their own complete disorganization. It's sad when a customer has to plead to the business for honesty! Renting a bike is not rocket science.
