Greek Salad topped with grilled shrimp - outdoor dining at it's best. Fast, efficient service for a delicious meal at a very reasonable price. Be back soon.
Co-worker living on Johns Island told me about this place and their "Specials." Business took me to the island and on my way home I stopped at Blackbird Market. One couple was finishing their meal at an outdoor table as I stepped into a side door.
A sign announces they are now open 7-days per week. They also keep their Facebook page updated with daily specials.
Excellent food! Highly recommend. We will go again.
Sandwiches here were SO fantastic... doesn't look like much from the outside but don't drive past... fresh... delicious and made with a smile
Inside there were several displays with fresh veggies, condiments and other items. Nice thing was the store was clean and well laid out eliminating a feeling of over crowding. A fresh selection of meats and seafood aligned the far wall. Huge bacon wrapped filets were selling for about $18 per pound. The one that I took home weighed in at .77 pounds and though its large size increased cooking time, turned out extremely excellent!
Considering pricing on their steaks being very reasonable along with the quality of the meats, I would much rather enjoy steak once in a while from Blackbird Market than consuming the much lessor quality selections offered at area supermarkets. In fact, I'd rather drive the extra distance to the Blackbird for my meats and veggies than going to any supermarket for anything more than soft drinks and beer.
Several lunch specials included my choice of the Red Bull. This is a sandwich piled high with cold, rare roast beef on a Kaiser with swiss, lettuce tomato, red onion and a horsey sauce. Lunch specials are served with one side and I chose Cheddar Grits which were thick and flavorful.
Great Food! We've gone in, ordered and sat outside to eat a couple of times now. Have yet to be disappointed. Generous portions, quality ingredients. Yummy! We've also picked up fresh foods to take home and prepare ourselves. Nice thick steaks and lobster tails. My mouths watering just thinking about them! Stop in sometime, you'll understand what I mean.
I also purchased a nicely marbled Rib Eye that must be close to two inches thick. It will be grilled this evening...
